Description

The EPAs Pesticides Label Matcher iOS application (PLM) will quickly and efficiently provide access to pesticide product data which compares market labels against federal label databases. The PLM application will assist enforcement personnel in identifying potentially violative products. The application leverages optical character recognition (OCR) technology to convert an image of a label to text, and then compares it with the approved federal master label, that can be used by regulated entities, the states, and EPA. The “Pesticides Label Matcher” will dramatically improve inspectors’ efficiency, allowing for a larger universe of labels to be inspected, and compliance rates to improve over time.
