Using El Capitan, on a Macbook pro retina 13” I can’t use this extension to use either Capture One not DXO Optics Pro to edit my images. I hope this will be solved

Description
External Editors For Photos adds an extension to the OS X Photos application that allows you to edit your photos with any image editor on your Mac. To see how it works watch the screencast on my website.

- To use the extension find a picture in Photos and double-click

- Pressing Enter in the photo overview is a shortcut to switch directly into Photos edit mode.
- Also, you can paste or drag any image into the picture frame within the extension.

Brilliant!
This extension does exactly what it promises to do. Now I can organize my photos in Apples new fotos programm, but edit them in Photoshop seamlessly. Shame on Apple, that they couldn’t do this trick themselves.
Ein ganz feines Teil...
Endlich kommt mal jemand auf die Idee und liefert solch eine App, die zudem noch perfekt funktioniert. Affinity Photo oder Pixelmator direkt aus der Apple "Photos App” als Extension zu nutzen…bequemer geht es nicht.
Gleicht eine massive Schwäche der Apple Fotos App perfekt aus
Mit dem Wechsel von iPhoto auf Fotos bei den Bilddatenbanken hat Apple zwar angeblich die Programmierung modernisiert, es sind aber einige Dinge weggefallen, die in iPhoto gut und funktionabel waren. Für mich war beim Wechsel auf Fotos am Schlimmsten, dass es nicht mehr möglich war, über den Rechtsklick auf ein Bild eine externe Anwendung zur Bildbearbeitung zu starten (das war bei mir seit Jahren Photoshop Elements), das Bild zu bearbeiten und anschließend wieder in Fotos zurück zu sichern. Das gleicht der External Editors for Photos gut aus. Über den Weg Bearbeiten - Erweiterungen-Schnittstelle lässt sich in Fotos ein gewünschtes Bildbearbeitungs-Programm direkt öffnen, das Bild bearbeiten und in Fotos zurückspeichern. Es sind zwar ein paar Klicks mehr als früher in iPhoto, aber es ist überhaupt möglich — und das ist für mich ein großer Gewinn. Vielen Dank für diese kleine App, die für mich ihr Geld auf alle Fälle wert ist.

endlich alle Foto-Editoren am Mac auch aus der Fotos-App nutzen … NIK Silver Efex z.B., welches bisher keine Unterstützung aus ‚Fotos‘ geboten hat. „made my day“

Von Anfang an fehlte bei der Fotos App die Möglichkeit, Fotos in einem externen Editor zu bearbeiten. Nun hat Karsten Bruns das geliefert, was eigentlich Apples Aufgabe gewesen wäre. External Editors for Photos ist eine großartige Erweiterung für die Fotos App. Und das zu einem Preis, der bei der Leistung fast gegen Null geht. Dafür ein ganz großes Dankeschön an den Entwickler!
