Variable speed and automatic rewind
Hardly anyone is able to type as quickly as people speak. So, just slow down the playback; the pitch won’t change. Speed it up when you proofread and finish faster. In addition, our program automatically rewinds a little every time you pause. This means you’ll hear the last two or three words again when you continue, which makes for a smoother workflow. 

Waveform with Pause Measure
It shows where you are and how loud it is. One click takes you to the desired position. The highlighted passage is played back in a loop and the length is measured. This enables you to precisely identify pause length and insert it into your transcript via shortcut.

Memos for Every Transcript
Preparing a transcript marks an important step in analysis. For each interview, write down all information that seems important or conspicuous. The memos will later be automatically imported into f4analyse and can also be read in MAXQDA/Atlas.ti.

Automatic Speaker Change
Save yourself the annoying typing of speaker names. f5transcript does it automatically. In dialogues, the paragraphs automatically start with the name oft he person currently speaking. With more than two speakers, our text modules will come in handy.
 
Automatic timestamps
Timestamps are inserted automatically during typing – no extra effort required. When you click on a timestamp, the corresponding passage is played back instantly. This is not only helpful for the transcription in f4 or f5, but also for the subsequent analysis in f4analyse, MAXQDA, or Atlas.ti.
 
Text modules
Create a set of frequently used text modules, like recurring phrases, transcription symbols, or speaker names. We have already provided a few sets of commonly used transcription symbols for you. Text modules can easily be imported and exported between f4 and f5.

USB Foot Pedals
f5transkript can be used with our foot pedals – they make your work easier. We offer three different models. Additionally, the foot pedals Infinity IN-USB-1 and IN-USB-2 by VEC are supported.
 
Backups
Mistakes happen to all of us. So you’ll never lose any of your valuable work again, f5transkript saves regular backups. This way, you’ll be able to quickly restore your latest progress.
 
Search & Replace
Make your transcripts anonymous with only a few clicks. Just search for a speaker’s name and replace it with an abbreviation. Alternatively, use abbreviations in your transcript and have them replaced with the proper terms later.
