Description
The purpose of this calculator is to assist FDNY-NYPD Tier 2 (appt date prior to July 1, 2009) pre-retirees (ages 40 to 65) in determining whether to remove their pension contributions (referred to as final loan, excess, overage, final withdrawal, etc.) based on various assumptions. The calculator automatically calculates the cost of removing the pension contributions based on the pre-retiree’s retirement age, type of retirement (Service or ADR), and the total amount of funds removed. In a final summary page, the calculator compares these results to the increased pension. The app also includes instructions and an example scenario.
Please note: This app will not be suitable for FDNY-NYPD Tier 2 pre-retirees with unusual circumstances (eg: user fully retired from the job and then was rehired).
