Picking a car is hard. Picking a car that will help you save money is harder.
Monthly payment alone isnt enough. Cars have difference costs to insure, have different fuel efficiencies, use different fuel types, and the cost of fuel varies by region. You also have to factor in distance driven - you arent going to save any money going from a 10mpg car to a 100mpg car if your daily commute is 2 miles.
I searched and searched the App Store until my thumb was blistered and sore, and it turns out that there wasnt app for that. Now there is.
Felix the Fuel Cost Calculator will let you enter your annual distance driven and the fuel costs in your area. As you add cars (entering monthly payment, insurance and fuel efficiency), Felix will calculate your monthly costs on the fly and allow you to compare cars to find the one that will save you money. And who wouldn’t like that?
