Description
FingerWorks is best used with a guitar teacher or a coach but can, of course, be used alone.
FingerWorks gives you a note to locate starting on the 6th string of your guitar. Based on your settings you will have to find the next note on the next string, which is shown on the screen.
For beginners it is recommended to only use the software with the 6th string alone since this exercise can become mind-bending very quickly for a novice. From there, add one string at a time until you become fluent with all of the notes on the guitar neck!
A left-handed mode is available so you can see the guitar neck the way you play!
The idea of FingerWorks came from a real exercise practiced every day with a guitar teacher, but now you have access to your own virtual guitar teacher on your Mac!

so far so good
id really like to use it but since the latestet update to 10.8.5 it isnt working anymore. freeze splash screen. please fix it. thx
Looks neat, is only useful for one string at a time.
The app sort of does what it promises, sort of, the Fretboard is upside down, (low E string is on top). You cannot customize for the program to only use certain parts of the freborad (vertical learning), which means whenever you decide to use some extra strings you will have to always guess one note per string. Next problem you cannot select individual strings but have to select everything inbetween. Meh..
I like it but it freezes on second start (OSX Mavericks)
If you start the app for the second time the splash screen freezes. You have to reinstall the app or delete all additional files (except the app itself) with AppCleaner. Please fix that, because i learned more about my fretboard in the last two days than in two years before ;)
Very useful, but could be even better
This programme can help a lot to learn the location of the different notes on the fretboard. Especially when you only select one string. Unfortunately this is only possible for the E string. It would be VERY useful, if one could select the other ones seperately, too. Another suggestion: Please tell the player on which string he shall play a note, if he selects more than one string. Example: The programme only says that the next note is a C, but not whether it shall be played on the E string in the 8th fret, on the A string in the 3rd fret or on the B string in the 1st fret. It would be great, if you could add this function. I know it takes time and effort to implement these features, so I would definitely pay something for such an improved version.
