When you are living or travelling in the USA , you better check out this app.
Global warning has increased the risks related to nature fires. Before you go out on the road, you can check with this app, where the latest fires are detected by the NASAs MODIS and VIIRS satellites. Dont get trapped on the road in between fires, like what happend on June 18th 2017 to so many people in Portugal.
You can tap and hold on the pins to see the date and time the fire was detected by the satellite. When you hold and slide your finger to other pins close-by it will update them dynamically. The pins are colored according the confidence level the satellite has about it being a real fire.
Note that the app needs an internet connection to work.
