Flourish is more than just a typical journal or diary. It gathers data about your activity, the weather, and sentiment analysis to help you understand your trends and provide a therapeutic outlet for your thoughts. Not only does it provide all of these features, but it does so rivaling the security of a huge majority of other iOS applications. Your data is first encrypted with a password of your choosing. Your password is never stored on the phone, or saved on any server. The encrypted data is then pushed and saved on iCloud only. Thus even if you phone was lost and iCloud breached, your data can never be exposed without you giving away your password!
We built this app out of a personal need to write unfiltered thoughts somewhere secure. Many individuals struggle with depression or simply need to vent their thoughts. The problem with most journals, both paper and digital, is the lack of security. With other versions of journals you risk having a friend, significant other, child, or total stranger picking up and reading your most private thoughts. This app removes that fear, allowing you to release your most secret and personal thoughts. Furthermore, this version and future updates will help you analyze trends from your data so that you can make correlations between feelings and your surroundings, allowing you to recognize and reinforce positive change.
