Description
Flying Assistant is a simple way of keeping track of your flight training journey, from discovery flight through to PPL and beyond!
When you jump in the plane, fire up the Flying Assistant app, set the local QNH, and start your flight. The app will record your flying hours, route, landing profiles and more.
If you've got an Apple Watch the Flying Assistant experience is even better! Link the app with your Health data to track your heart rate throughout the flight to manage stress and fatigue. Set haptic alerts if you exceed a set altitude, or when it's time to change fuel tanks based on your POH or flight school's policy. Use the circuit direction note to record ATC circuit directions when flying in controlled airspace.
When you're back on the ground, review your flights using the iOS app. Check out the route flown, altitude and speed profiles, replay your flight in real time or scrub through to points of interest. Review your landing performance for each landing, with side-on descent profiles, a landing assessment and summary of key landing elements like descent speed, consistency and bounces.
Every flight can be exported as a full CSV of raw telemetry to import into other flight tracking or GIS software.
The use of Health data in the app is optional, and enhances the data provided to the pilot in the form of heart rate monitoring throughout the flight. The app can be used without Health permissions and you will be prompted at app launch to make your own selection. Flights can also be saved as 'other' workouts for consideration as part of a broader pilot health & fitness program.
All data remains on your own devices and in your personal iCloud account for backup and cross-device sync.
Flying Assistant is a training guide only, and is not certified for in-flight use.
