Description

Introducing Foodmatic. Give it ingredients and Foodmatic calculates how well those ingredients taste together. Features: * Calculates how well ingredients taste together * * Learn what flavors and foods taste amazing together * * Find delicious recipes by searching with ingredients * * Be more creative in your everyday cooking * * Built-in database with hundreds of ingredients * Create a delicious recipe in 3 easy steps: 1) Give Foodmatic an ingredient or a bunch of ingredients. 2) Foodmatic suggests other ingredients that would go well with those ingredients. Tap a suggested ingredient to add it to your recipe. 3) As you add ingredients, Foodmatic "scores" your recipe to let you know how good it tastes. Add ingredients until youre satisfied with your recipe. How does it work? Foodmatic uses a built-in database with hundreds of ingredients and a proprietary algorithm to determine what flavors and foods go together really well. We spent months researching common and not-so-common flavor combinations, analyzing thousands of recipes and regional cuisines from around the world, and even took into account an ingredients seasonal affinities to determine how well certain ingredients go with others. We are always improving the algorithm and updating the database to make Foodmatic more comprehensive, more accurate, and more useful. We want our users to give us as much feedback as possible so that we can further refine and improve Foodmatic. Who is it for? Foodmatic was born from our passion for delicious great-tasting food. Foodmatic is for people who love food as much as we do. Good idea, but confusing

Knives Chau · 15 years ago

I bought this since I liked the idea-- I can be really uncreative with recipes-- but in practice, it doesnt work as well as it should. Some of the suggestions actually decrease the percentage score, and the size of the suggestion dont actually indicate how much theyd improve the combination. And Retina graphics would also be appreciated, the icon looks bad on my iPhone 4!

Decent

I like the idea but as was mentioned, some of the suggestions dont help and they also tend to be obscure items. For instance, suggesting ice cream to go with chicken but nowhere does it suggest something like pasta. Also, the find a recipe option does not work when connected to 3G. Havent tried with Wi-fi but on 3G it tells me that I need an Internet connection to use the feature. Overall great idea but it still needs work.

Tasty? Says you...

Izzbell · 15 years ago · v1.1.1

I have no idea how the app calculates "deliciousness", but its certainly doesnt seem to be based in reality. A classic recipe like Pasta Carbonara (pasta, eggs, cream, black pepper and pancetta) doesnt even hit 40%. Ingredient suggestions are also totally off the wall at times - going back to my carbonara example, the app strongly recommends peppermint as a possible add-in. Peppermint? Seriously? Gag-worthy.

Horrible app waste of money

Axxxee · 14 years ago · v1.1.1

What a disappointing app. Theory is great but after using the app inserting 20+ ingredients such as chicken, broccoli, asparagus, garlic etc. the app did not return a single recipe. Completely disappointed!!!

Wow cool

I love to cook and its fun to play around with different flavor combos.

Thats all?

catfishcore · 15 years ago

All it does is list food you have suggest other stuff and scores how well it may taste. No suggestions of what to do with the list.

Nice

Well, its great if you start with an idea. I simply took hamburger helper and added suggested ingrediants till I got it to 100. Came out delicious.
