We all have our stories to tell, but sometimes we need a little help bringing them out. FORTÆL! makes it easy for everyone to tell, listen to, write, retell, draw, dramatize, film, report on and share stories together! Starting with a story and ending with a finished film, FORTÆL! involves an easy 5–step process. Step 1: Tell your stories The players tell real-life stories with story-starter cards providing ideas and encouragement. Each story should last between 1 and 3 minutes, and all stories are recorded for later reference. The process inspires empathy, curiosity and bonding. Step 2: Choose a story and put it in writing As a group, the players choose the story they want to work with, thinking up powerful visual images as they retell, write down and edit the story. Step 3: Develop a storyboard The players work together to figure out how to illustrate the story and formalize their conclusions in a storyboard. Step 4: Make the video Now the players turn their storyboard into an actual film, working together to act out, direct, film and edit their production. Step 5: Share with the world! When finished, the video can be shared with classmates, friends and the world at large!
