Description

The Fracture Risk Assessment Tool (FRAX®) offers the medical practitioner an easy-to-use tool to calculate an individual patient’s 10-year probability of an osteoporotic fracture. Osteoporosis management guidelines around the world now increasingly recommend that fracture risk assessment be part of any clinical evaluation to help inform treatment decisions. This App makes FRAX calculations handily available via smartphone or tablet – for maximum flexibility in any clinical setting. FRAX generates the following results: - the 10-year probability of a major osteoporotic event (clinical spine, forearm, hip or shoulder fracture). - the 10-year probability of a hip fracture - Body Mass Index Models are available for the following countries/population groups: Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Palestine, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore-Chinese, Singapore-Indians, Singapore-Malays, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, UK, US-Asian, US- Black, US-Caucasian, US-Hispanic, Venezuela For UK users, NOGG guidance is accessible. FRAX App functionality: - PIN Protection for saved assessments - Patient Results Management (save, delete & sort options) - E-mail sharing capability of patient assessment (responses and results) - Shake-to-Restart assessment functionality All proceeds from the FRAX App go to the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF), which helps develop and maintain the FRAX tool.

Useful but overpriced

GoldenAnvil · 11 years ago · v4.0.0

Very small bang for the buck on this, though does what it promises.

Pretty good app

OsteoClinic · 12 years ago

This app is pretty good. Very nice looking and I like that I can save patient results. Definitely worth the price considering how easy it is to calculate risk factors.

Could be better

slowgenius · 11 years ago

This app does what it needs to, but wasnt designed with usability in mind. The scrolling interface to specify age and the BMD may look pretty, but is absolutely horrible to use. Also, it would be much better to allow somebody to start with a screen loaded with (appropriate) defaults and only update the parts that need to be updated, rather than force the user to step through every question every time. No thought whatsoever was put into this user interface.

BMD entry painful

Alison7 · 11 years ago

It was an ok tool, but entering the BMD took MINUTES. Unless this is addressed I probably wont use this again.

Poor design

Sjpopo · 11 years ago

I bought this, but it takes about 2 minutes to calculate a frax score. It should be redesigned to do this in 10-20 seconds. A good example is the ASCVD app. The T score entry requires scrolling though one decimal place at a time to get to your patients score. For example, going from 0 to negative 2.2 requires hitting a button 22 times.

Not worth the price

Gabbi L. · 11 years ago

Very slow and tedious to enter information, particularly t score.

Works but not easily

PLEASE DEVELOPERS: Change the way data is input. Yes the scrolling ages, weights, and heights are pretty but arent functional for quick calculations. Please allow us to type in text instead of scrolling. Please.
