I was expecting a better use of technology, like use of GPS. This is just a bunch of static pages. Too expensive when you can get a free brochure instead.
Useless! "Downloading data updates" at every start
Dont use this app if you are roaming. Data costs will be sky high, the app is always updating, and the multimedia content can only be accessed if connected. A waste of money because we were not able to use it while walking the trail.
Crash
Crashing on iPhone 6
I wish I bought doughnuts instead.
The app is not worth purchasing. There is no audio guide, the trail isn’t even marked and they should be able to do so much better @ $5. I wish I could get a refund. I used it for about 3 minutes and then never opened it again. It really should have THE Freedom Trail marked (or at least one version of it) and an audio guide to go along with the dots on a map. Not helpful and disappointed to waste $5.
Freedom trail
The app includes great information! It was very helpful. The only improvement would be an interactive map. Bostons streets are built going up Beacon Hill, and its easy to lose your orientation.
Waste of money on the "official" app
Just used this app on our recent trip to Boston. For $5 it was extremely disappointing. For most of the sites on the trail, when you select map, there was a blank screen. It gave you some basic info on the site, but under the trivia option, sometimes it repeated the same info!! Save your money and find a free app. By the way, this is the app recommended by the freedom trail website. Wish I had my money back.
Do not buy this app until they add some real features
This app doesnt even deserve one star it is so weak. It doesnt deliver on the promises it makes in the description (integration with GPS, etc.). Acting as a conduit to web sites does not an app make. Linking me to an interactive map of my current location would be nice. Showing me a static map is not an app, it is a picture of a map. For $4.99 I expected a heck of a lot more. This is nothing but a paid for, poorly executed electronic version of the free tour guide maps that are available everywhere in Boston.
