Funk Parade: Boombox at Mac App Store analyse

The DC Funk Parade is a celebration of the Districts music, art, and culture. In partnership with Deloitte Digital, a creative consultancy, the "Boombox Walk" app was designed and built by the people, for the people. Music, especially funk, is a convening force. This app puts that connection in people’s hands—literally. It allows participants to select a boombox with a single sound, then sync with others who can choose an alternate rhythm. The result is a massive musical collaboration on the streets of the Nations Capital. Imagine thousands of DC locals from all walks of life, jamming out as they walk down historic U Street to music they are making…together. His fine art practice often focuses on interactive, multi-timbral sound installations, which he has exhibited both locally and nationally. Alex is a founding member of the DC-based public art initiative, Zerozero Collective. He records and performs with rising indie-pop starlets The El Mansouris, and tours nationally with Young Rapids.
