All reviews →OK, but kind of lame.
Its OK but the animations of the cars moving gets to be tedious after a while. Not sure it was worth the $9.99.
Its Okay not worth $9
A good game to pass time by but thats about it. Needs better resolutions for 27 inch iMacs was hoping it would fill the screen but it doesnt. Please improve resolutions
Fans of the original - avoid
I actually logged on last night looking specifically for the Game of Life. I was so delighted it had just been released! It was from the same team that made Monopoly, so I didnt have any hesitation about buying it. MISTAKE!! Aside from the colors and the shape of the pegs, this game has little resemblance to the game I remember so fondly. Instead of making good decisions and wise investments, the entire point of the game seems to be "how can I totally screw and exploit my fellow players". While that may be a sadly accurate statement on the modern world, what I wanted was to play the game I remembered. If you really enjoy taking advantage of others, this is certainly the game for you. However, if youve ever played the classic version of the Game of Life, I think youll be disappointed with this modern idea of it. Id get a refund if I could.
Delightful Surprise
Ive been playing Game of Life, well, for longer than I care to admit. : ) This is such a delightful adaptation of the original board game. Playing it on my Mac Book Air 11 inch at the restaurant with my family had us all giggling silly. Several people peered over and asked about it. My son (whos 16 and a core gamer) was nothing but enthusiasm in his responses. LOL. My wife and I thought it amusing given his "gamer" persona. Looking forward to a full screen implementation, shouldnt be hard to do. Worth the $9.99? Oh gosh, totally especially gven the price of other games out there. Strong recommendation: Buy.
Alright, but not what I was expecting.
After buying Monopoly off of the App Store, I quickly bought the Game of Life too. I was hoping that I would get the same bang for my buck as I did with Monopoly, but unfortunately no. The game hardly bares any resemblance to the original Game of Life and I was a bit disappointed after playing for the first time. The game runs fine, and for that I gave it 3 stars, but I wish I could get a refund, or have them redo the game for me for free.
Just like the real life game!
I was looking for some games and found this game, the game of life. I have the board game in real life and like it. When I first seen that it is $9 I thought "wow! That is a lot for just one game!" But since its Christmas I bought it! I am so pleased! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!
Fun family game
Other than a brief problem with crashing after purchase (cleared up with a reboot of my Mini), this proved to be a fun family game. Some of the controls are a tad "off" (switching from looking around the board back to rolling) and we have one piece of unexplainable behavior (the game was playing cards for people without prompting)…but the game was still very entertaining.
