Description

GeoFlyer – Südtirol / Alto Adige 3D allows to navigate in 3D one of the most beautiful mountain areas of the world. The dataset contains very high resolution data, and the terrain shape is shown in 3D with an unsurpassed detail for an iPhone application: Dolomites peaks are accurately reproduced, providing a realistic visual experience. Images have a maximum resolution of 50 cm. The navigation movements can be intuitively executed, following common standards: panning, zooming, rotations are carried out by means of one or two fingers on the screen. A “Search” feature allows to locate any place name, from major cities to small villages. A “GPS” feature allows to show your current position in the 3D scene (of course only if you are inside the map bounds). The GeoFlyer application needs an Internet connection to retrieve the data, but it uses cached data when a connection is not available.

i finds super! kartenmaterial koennte besser sein, vor allem in / um bozen. aber 3d ansicht und 3d steuerung sind gut gelungen.

Great 3D details

This is a spectacular application, the mountains have very fine 3D details, much better than in Google Earth; movements are smooth, performances are good even on my iPhone 3G. A must for those who want to make a trip (virtual or real) on the Dolomites.

Lho appena testata sul mio 3G e non ha una risoluzione migliore di Google Earth (almeno per quel che riguarda le textures). Comprando la stessa zona (stadio Druso di Bolzano) non ho trovato nessuna differenza, ad eccezione dei colori... Mi aspettavo una risoluzione più dettagliata, come lo sono le città americane, dove si riescono a vedere discretamente le anche macchine. Il top sarebbe uno street view, ma in tal caso chiedo troppo.

Davvero notevole. Se posso dare qualche consiglio per renderla perfetta, direi: 1) non ci sono i nomi delle montagne: aiuterebbe! 2) poterla utilizzare anche quando si è senza rete (lo so che memorizza in cache,ma non posso avere la certezza di che zone si ricorda e quali no) Poi,sarebbe perfetta (e sarei disposto anche a pagare per averla)
