Description

GIFMaker is the easiest way to create an animated GIF on your Mac. It allows you to create GIFs effortlessly by dragging a video or a series of images to the GIFMaker status bar icon. How it works: 1. Drag a video file (or multiple images) to the GIFMaker status bar icon. 2. Hit "Make GIF" 3. Use your freshly minted GIF anywhere. You can also configure the output size, the duration range of the video you want to export, and the frame rate. GIFMaker is perfect for creating GIFs to share or publish on the web. You can use it to create more compelling blog content, to demonstrate how your product works with animated walkthroughs, and to bring your personal photos to life with animation to share with friends. If you have any questions whatsoever, or feature recommendations, or just general suggestions, please feel free to email me at [email protected]. —————————————————— FAQ Q: What are the supported file formats? A: Video: MOV, MP4, & AVI Image: PNG, JPEG, TIFF Q: When dragging in images, how does GIFMaker determine the order in which to use these images in the GIF? A: The out sequence of the GIF is determined by the order in which you select/highlight the images. If you have three images on your desktop, 1.png, 2.png, and 3.png, and you select 2.png, then 3.png, then 1.png, the resulting GIF order will be 2.png, 3.png, 1.png.

How do you regulate time length?

Rad Radar · 10 years ago · v1.0

Seriously, if you want to make gifs out of still images, there is no way you can adjust the time length, so every image flashes for a brief moment and that’s that.

Useless with images

nizejpodpisany · 10 years ago · v1.0

The app doesn’t give control over the length of the included pictures. How come someone has developed such a thing?

Wonderful

Meowgorithm · 9 years ago · v1.0

The perfect tool. I throw a video at it, it turns it into a GIF. As a digital creative, I cannot recommend this enough.

No apparent way to set the frame rate...

DalTaylor · 9 years ago · v1.0

There is a box labeled frame rate. However, entering a number in the box has no effect. Other than that, I suppose the app is OK.

Works as advertised

Dragged a 4.6mb .mp4 file and it converted it to a 16.8mb GIF. The increase in size is to be expected, so I’m pretty pleased. I love that you can control the framerate (I chose 30) and the size. It makes it easy to see both the pixel dimensions as well as the percentage scale of the original. It’s also pretty fast too, so that’s nice. My only request would be the ability to trim the original video (set start and end frames). Potentially some filesize optimizations by eliminating colors, or suggesting a certain framerate to achieve a certain filesize. All in all, solid app!

Yeeesssss!!!!

I’ve been looking for a good GIF making utility for a while, this is the one! Quick, easy, useful. Thank you to the developer.

Not worth the download even if it were free

Has a bizarrely incompete UI, doesn’t show up in the dock, can’t tab to it, has no file menu. Has no settings that I can find. Can only drag and drop files to it. Output files are ridiculously large. Took a 340k mp4 and output a 22mb gif. Insane.
