Glenview Softwares E6B application performs many of the more basic flight navigation computations used by general aviation pilots. With an extensive on-line help system, Glenview Softwares E6B permits you to make quick work of various navigational, weight and balance, and fuel problems, as well as performing basic arithmetic calculations and built-in unit conversion. Glenview Softwares E6B is capable of performing the following calculations: Pressure and Density Altitude Va (Maneuvering) Speed True Air Speed Required Calibrated Airspeed Cloud Base Estimator True Course/Speed Heading for True Course Wind Speed and Direction True Heading/Speed for Course Cross Wind Calculator Magnetic Course/Heading True Course/Heading Calculate Speed Distance Traveled Leg Time Calculator Fuel Required Fuel Burn Rate Fuel Endurance Glenview Softwares E6B also provides unit conversion calculators for distance, speed, weight, temperature, volume and pressure, as well as calculating the weight or volume for aviation fuel, JP-4, Kerosene and oil. Glenview Softwares E6B includes an all-in-one planning calculator panel which allows you to quickly on one screen plan a leg of a course, calculating the magnetic heading and course, as well as the true heading, ETA, fuel burn and ground speed without switching between panels. Glenview Softwares E6B will also allow you to quickly work weight and balance problems in a convenient tabular form, saving individual problems for quick reference later. Glenview Softwares E6B also contains a weight and balance calculator which can graphically represent the results of a calculation for a number of popular aircraft, including graphically representing the fuel burn-down to help you keep your plane in balance during the entire flight. For known aircraft Glenview Software will also show the Va maneuvering speed at the current weight and at the fuel empty weight so you can fly your entire trip safely.

Particularly Great E6B!

Very well organized. Flight Planner portion was just what I needed for cross country planning for Private Pilot license. Graphic/Screen layouts are easy to read. Overall this the BEST E6B app of the many I compared. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this app.

Wait if you can - I found a major flaw

I initially rated it with 4 starts (for some reason the App Store isnt showing the rating). But for now, Im changing it to 2 stars because of what I consider a major flaw. Overall, I still think this is a great app. Im just hoping this flaw will be fixed soon. To the developers credit, I have emailed him with the information and he said he would research the issue. To date, I have not heard back from him. But I am patiently waiting. If it is resolved, I will update my rating again. I created a W&B entry for a C172R. All fine and good. I actually created several aircraft for W&B. I then changed the empty weight and arm for my specific aircraft. Everything looked good. When I later returned to the app, the empty weight and arm were changed back to the default (1640 weight). What the...? I changed the empty weight again, thinking maybe I missed something. Well, it happened again. What I discovered (at least it appears so) is that if you power off (not sleep) the device and then power it back on, the modified empty weight and arm is changed back to the default. Maybe for an iPad you wouldnt power off/on often. But I turn off my phone before a flight, so when I power it back on, all my empty weights are lost (set back to default). This could be dangerous if you didnt notice then change. If it is not fixed soon, I will most likely purchase another W&B app and just use this for the E6B.
