Docs for Google Drive at Mac App Store analyse

I do a lot of work in Google Drive, and while I can open up a Safari or Chrome window to do that work, I tend to like to keep my digital workspace organized by apps. As such, I wanted to utilize an actual application to access my Google Drive account, and its Google productivity Apps. I stumbled across GoDrive, and saw mostly positive reviews, the price was right, and so I downloaded it. It’s pretty straightforward: an app that loads your Google Drive account in its own respective window. On that front, you get exactly what you want, and the app works well! Clean interface, you Google Drive account is essentially just rendered, as it would be in a browser, in the app. Why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I would have been copmelled to give the app 5 stars, but there is one drawback, which I am hoping will be addressed in a future release: When you open a Google Doc, Sheet, or Slides file, they open in a brand new window, rather than in a tab. While this may not be a big issue for many people, I sometimes have five or six files opened simultaneously, and I don’t want to have five separate windows that I have to keep track of (in this regard, the browser version of Drive really is pretty easy to work in). I looked to see if there was a preference setting where I could choose to have tabbed content, but alas, there was none. If this feature is addressed, and implemented in a future update, then I will happily change my review to 5 out of 5. Aside from that one minor shortcoming, this is a great app, and I highly recommend it!

This app has the potential to be really nice, however, it sometimes freezes on the homepage which requires you to quit and re-open the program. If this gets fixed it would be 5 stars.

This app freezes almost every time I open it. My computer is practically brand new and has nothing on it. No other App behaves this way on my 5G internet. Pretty odd….

Love using this app. Very clean interface. Easy to use. The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the lack of tabbed browsing within the app. At work I have many Google Sheet docs open to cross reference data and build new data in others. Having a clutter of open windows makes the purpose of this app keeping me from using my web browser counter productive since I can keep all those Google Sheets open in separate tabs within a browser. Please add tabs to allow us to open multiple google docs within the single app window without cluttering up my desktop. The other apps like this does not have this feature and I guarantee adding it will set this product apart from the others and insure more sales. If you can add tabs, might I sugguest displaying the Google Doc type icon on the tab and if room the title of the doc. But I will be happy enough if it just had tabs. Unfortunately the dealbreaker is the app uses Safari within it’s windows and if you are a heavy Google Sheets user like I am… Safari 10 and Google Sheets do not work well together and cause formulas to break - which the data I have to deal with day-to-day can hurt my job immensely if they go wrong. I hate to say it, but if this app is built to acclimate Google Docs then it should use Chrome’s open source framework to work with the docs.

The app is really well designed and works well with mac.I use GoDrive extensively,getting thing done,while also using it for personal projects.I can upload documents for my friend,and there are absolutely no problems whatever.Its also extremely easy to access and use.This app was really well made and its worth the download.Love it!

Very good app for working on projects because you can put it offline and work it where ever.This app lets me easily access important work documents and while in the field.Since i use this app,i can update my all documents and send them seamlessly.Such a great tool to have.Love it!

I give this app five stars because it does what its supposed to do well:give access to documents saved on google drive quickly,allows viewing and sharing of these documents.GoDrive also has a simple easy user face which I really like.Overall very happy with this app.I used it fairly often.
