Europe is facing the worst refugee crisis since WW2 – and it’s time for us all to help. Most of us have belongings that we’re happy to give away to help others in need, but often don’t know where, when, or how to donate these items. Similarly, donation centres struggle with keeping required items lists up to date and sharing these in an easy way with the public – which means often they receive unwanted items. Since centres often receive groups of refugees temporarily before they move on to different destinations, these lists are ever updating, and it is important that centres receive items specific to the refugees they are currently hosting at that time. At GoGive, we’re aiming to solve these problems by providing an easy to use donation matching system that digitalises the requirement lists of refugee centres in Europe. How does it work for refugee donation centres? On the GoGive website, donation centres can create and update a list of required items, which is updated in real time in the app. Centres can also specify the urgency, deadline and more details about each item, ensuring that donors receive the exact information needed to donate effectively.
