Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a traditional story app for early readers helping them develop story reading, understanding and sequencing skills with text, symbol and speech support. Widgit’s traditional story series is ideal for students up to a reading age of eight years old. The apps have been specifically designed to support a wide ability range. There is a range of activities with recorded speech that enables the listener to hear the intonation of each sentence as it is spoken. The activities are in two levels: words with symbol support and text only. There are five activities in each level: 1. Listen to the Story This activity allows the student to read/listen to the story independently. 2. Sequence the story Tests understanding by allowing the students to by order key story events. 3. Sentences marked as you go The sentences are divided into key sections which must be sequenced correctly. 4. Sentences marked at the end Similar sequencing activity which marks the student’s answers at the end of the page. 5. True or false Tests the student’s understanding through the use of true or false questions. There are options for speech support for the opening statement.
