iGuitarChords is a guitar chord reference/database for the iPhone and iPod Touch. iGuitarChords features over 1600 chords and positions. After trying many of the chord database applications, we found this one to be the most user friendly. The interface is quite stunning, and very easy to use. This application includes many features including, saving a chord, changing notation (C to Do, Sol to G etc..), and scrolling through various positions to play the selected chord. Currently on version 1.0, it does not include any chord sounds, or scales. The developer has said this will be coming in future versions, which makes this application something that will definitely stay on my device.
Im a beginner...
The interface should include which fingers are placed where. I dont know whether to bar two strings or use a second finger. Not familiar with most of the notation. is a C+ a simple C chord?
A great start but 2 deal breakers
I mainly got this for chords like G/C G/B D/F# etc. Not sure what theyre called but this app doesnt have them. Also, the preferences button is annoyingly placed near the chord variations arrows and chubby thumbs always hit it. Preferences should be accessed through standard iPhone preferences, not from inside the program anyway. Other than those two things, this app is great, its never crashed and has all the other common chords. Worth the 99 cents. Id pay $5 if those two problems were fixed.
Very Nice!!
I really appreciate the straightforwardness of the interface. Would it be possible to add some additional chord types such as 7#5? Also, for a future version, could alternate tunings be looked at? Scales/Modes are more Important but alternate tunings would be appreciated as well. Overall, very nice!
Bad very bad what you did!
This is another great application that no longer supports iPhone 3G and the number of those that no longer works with iPhones 3G is increasing. I upgraded to the last version to find that it requires a newer version of the iPhones OS. So fortunately I was able to restore it from my iTunes backup. No support to iPhone 3G? Why? That doesnt make economic sense for the developer. Now many musicians with iPhone 3G cant buy the application because is not compatible with their iPhones. My fellow iPhoners, be careful when updating your applications and check for compatibility. The days of just hitting "Update All" are gone.
great
