This is the Lite version of The Hundreds Board. This version contains only part of the stories included with the full version and only numbers up to 20 are interactive. This App is an introduction to the operation of a Hundreds Board. Learning about numbers and maths concepts need not be boring! In this app children learn through games: They practise their listening, learn meanings of words, think and problem solve. Getting them ready for the real world! Background to the Hundreds Board The hundreds board is traditionally used in schools with children between the ages of 6 and 12. Through the hundreds board children may learn: • Number patterns and sequences • Addition/Subtraction and Multiplication • Counting • Skip counting: Counting in 2s, 5s and 10s The full version is designed to assist: • Parents and teachers with children’s learning • Children’s engagement and motivation in the classroom • Attention, memory, thinking and listening skills • Maths vocabulary: Often children have difficulty with problem solving because they don’t understand the language concepts involved • Children with learning difficulties, for example dyscalculia • Recognition of numbers to 100 • Maths anxiety, as children see the relevance of maths to everyday life through a story set on a farm.
