Description

I wrote this program because of my own need to train my vocabulary. What I find most important is a combination of repetition and automatic progress. This App tries to achieve that. With the use of a point system. The App registers how well you know a word. If you know a word good enough, it will only ask it once in a while for the sake of repetition. When a word is classified as known, a new word is added to the next exercise. Vocabulary/Flashcard training tool for: - Greek (first 300 words with audio) - Biblical Hebrew (first 300 words with audio) - Latin (extracted from the Summa Theologiae) - Create your own lists through the website http://vocab.idoms.org/ - Many parameters are adjustable - A brief summary after each exercise - You can create your own custom lists from the words in the App - Optionally practice both ways A lot of the parameters of the App are adjustable, and this makes it a very flexible flashcard application. The first 50 words are for free to test the App, after that vocabulary sets can be purchased using In-App purchases. The revenue I use to pay towards my development cost such as Developer License etc. Please be aware that you need to use the restore purchase function if you want to use the App on multiple devices. This is for free (you will never be charged twice for the same list) and the button can be found at the bottom of the list with vocabulary sets. It is now possible to create your own vocabulary lists though an In-App upgrade!

Disappointing

tbouleute · 13 years ago · v1.2.3

Not only does this app propose a mere 50 free basic greek words, but one of them has a spelling mistake. I uninstalled it after 10 minutes of use...

Needs update!

BiblicalLanguagesNerd · 12 years ago · v1.3.1

This app is helpful for reviewing vocab but it badly needs an update and it needs it soon! The hebrew vowel pointings are messed up for some words. And the app could benefit from having a "back" button where you could go back to the previous word that you may want to look at again but it doesnt have it. Also, it would be nice to have the overall appearance updated but this isnt anything major. In conclusion, it does what it says itll do but could use an update soon since it hasnt been updates since its first release... Hence, 4 stars.

Hebrew vocabulary

Fun and easy to use!

Biblical Hebrew, Greek - Russian

Biblical Hebrew, Greek - Russian очень было бы хорошо, если бы была такая программа.

Well see

So I had to buy the vocab list once I installed the app. Ok. Slightly dubious. I bought the Hebrew list. I appreciated the Bibleworks cf for the frequency of the word. Im a little ticket that the vocab is in a quiz format AND there are vowels presented preceding words and non Hebrew letters at the end of certain words. I expected more from o.p.s. I want them to fix these problems so I can update the product. I cannot recommend this app for anyone needing it for academic study of any type.

Limited but has potential in future updates

The app is ok, nothing fantastic but also not horrible. I bought the app for my iPad initially with the Greek New Testament and Hebrew flashcards but the app is going to make me buy them again to get them on my iPhone which I think is ridiculous so heads up all you people who use multiple platforms and make sure you figure out which one you really want. As far as the actual testing goes there is only the flashcard manner of learning. There isnt a multiple choice, reverse multiple choice, quiz, auto shuffle feature, or some of the other niceties that flashcards apps like gFlash offers. Also there isnt any way to add and/or modify cards. Some of the cards are either incorrect or just weird, for instance the Hebrew card yom (יום) has a mystery segol vowel preceding the word, מלך has a ה following it with a sheva under it and an "n" with the spanish looking circumflex accent above it. Also, I should note that there isnt any indication of gender with the Hebrew flashcards. One nice thing though is that the Hebrew verbs do include the qal, niphal, hiphil, and other binyanim verb forms where applicable.

Doesnt work

I bought the Greek vocab. When I tried to download it, the app quit. So I then tried to download the free 50 Greek words, and it did the same. So Im left with no vocab lists, and with $1.99 lost.
