Description

This is an app version of the HIV Dementia Scale, developed by the Johns Hopkins HIV Neurosciences group as a simple screening tool for HIV-Associated Neurocognitive Disorders (HAND) in both the United States and in International settings including resource limited countries. The test also provides a useful baseline for individuals without any cognitive symptoms. This test does not replace more detailed neurocognitive testing but does allow students and trainees to screen for cognitive dysfunction, especially in the areas of memory and timed mental processing. These are typically the areas most affected by HAND, and an abnormal score may prompt further evaluation.
