The Inoculant Value Calculator (IVC) helps you evaluate benefits including reduced shrink, improved bunklife, reduced feed inputs, feed cost savings/cow/day and total added value from investment. Select your crop and storage structure to estimate the economic value of crop-specific inoculant products available to improve fermentation, aerobic stability and fiber digestibility. Input specific figures from your farm ( % shrink loss, dollar/ton as fed silage value, % dry matter of silage, tons ensiled, lbs. of selected silage fed/cow/day (wet), dry matter intake/cow/day, current price of corn grain/bu, and current price of 44% soybean meal/ton) to customize your results.
