Instant Pulse measures your heart rate in just 8 seconds using the built-in wide-angle camera of your iPhone or iPad — no extra equipment needed.
Simply place your finger calmly over the camera, stay still, and the app will measure your heart rate and save the result automatically.
If you are using an iPad without a camera flash, take your measurements in a well-lit environment, such as under direct sunlight or near a light source.

Normal resting heart rate for adults ranges from 60 to 100 beats per minute.
Consult your doctor if your resting heart rate is consistently above 100 beats per minute (tachycardia), or if you are not a trained athlete and your resting heart rate is consistently below 60 beats per minute (bradycardia) — especially if accompanied by symptoms such as fainting, dizziness, or shortness of breath.
