LingoBuff JLPT Vocab Trainer is a Mac application to learn and review Japanese vocabulary necessary for passing the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test). You dont have to know kanji or kana to use the application. You can learn Japanese words by listening to them spoken by the app. Learn vocabulary for any level of JLPT: N5, N4, N3, N2, N1. There are 669 words for N5, 582 words for N4, 1803 words for N3, 1830 words for N2, and 3476 words for N1. JLPT Vocab Trainer uses an effective spaced repetition system that allows you not only to learn Japanese words but also never to forget them. Learning progress is tracked for translation from Japanese into English and for English to Japanese separately. Which means that each word is considered to be two different cards to be learned. One card has Japanese for the front and English for the flip side. The other card has English on the front and Japanese on the back side.
