JR-EAST Train Info at Mac App Store analyse

Itd be too early to release this app cuz I cant select my stop. This app is still improving, not completed. Now the nearest station from my stop is displayed on my data.

Apart from telling me the name of the nearest train station, it did not work. I uninstalled it soon after the download.

Download 900 or more info? In 20 minutes with 4g connection?

Well... Thanks JR East but: Its not possible to access timetables for stations other than Tokyo, Ueno, Shinagawa, and Shinjuku. The station in Tokyo I visit the most is Ikebukuro. Perhaps its not busy enough to warrant a timetable? (Or it doesnt have Shinkansen service.) I dont need detailed information on the Yamamote line. It runs in a circle and stops at every station. I need the complete timetable for Yokohama station with all limited express, liner, overnight, and special excursion trains included. I need the complete timetable for the Shonan-Shinjuku and Ueno-Tokyo lines including all branches of service in Tochigi, Ibaraki, Saitama, Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Shizuoka. Cant this be done in English? Its better than nothing if you are vacationing in Tokyo or plan to use the Shinkansen from Tokyo, but this is laughably inadequate compared to the comprehensive Japanese version. I give JR East much credit for their heroic efforts in catering to non-Japanese speakers, but this app isnt exactly the high point of that campaign. The most useful feature is probably real-time info on service disruptions. Keep an eye on this and look for improvements in future versions.

I open it and it starts downloading gazillions of MB from a very slow server. I cannot use it.

Found this app useful so installed. The app at times starts to download some files which is so so slow that ended up deleting it from the phone.

This is a great tool for using your JR Pass in Tokyo, just wish the other JR companies would follow suite and do something similar.
