Best and Accurate LA Metro App!

kaitlinjj · 11 years ago

This app was EXACTLY what I was looking for! Fast, accurate, and shows how many minutes away the next bus is. It even shows the whole route of the bus when you click on the bus number! They have other apps for other cities too which is extremely useful because I love to travel. I use this app as a replacement for Transit LA app which is now out-of-date. Highly Recommended!!!!

Dev is responsive to emails

04/22/16 update: The dev fixed the problem of app intermittently crashing upon opening. I like the unique concept of a map-based app, but I noted some issues with the app; rather than just complaining in a review, I contacted the dev about the problem, and he responded within hours. I paid to remove ads, since thats the kind of customer service worthy of supporting! Thanks! My old review appears below. @@@@@ Is there anyone in the year 2016 who STILL doesnt know the circle with the radiating waves represents YOU and your current location? I say that, as the circle has a pop-up message that says, "Your Current Location". Well no kidding?!? It would be nice to be offered the option of disabling that pop-up, as a problem arises when youre currently standing at a bus stop, and you want to check arrival times. Good luck tapping on only the stop, since the pop-up informing you of your current location will often appear instead, since youll inevitably end up tapping on your location. Also, the app uses a TINY FONT SIZE to show arrival times and names of buses: this cannot be increased (not even by rotating into landscape mode). Obviously the dev must be young and pre-presbyopic, as a tiny font is extremely hard to see, and downright painful to read in the dark for anyone over 40. Updating the users current GPS location is buggy: itll show where you USED to be, rather than your current location (and forcing it to update locations can take repeated taps of the locate button, as it moves closer to your current location). Also, it would be nice if the app were able to display routes even when buses arent currently operating on a line. This would be useful when looking for possible routes for the next day to get to a destination, even when no buses are operating on the line (e.g. many bus lines dont operate on weekends, but it would be nice to see the route on, e.g. Sunday night, to plan a trip for Monday morning). All in all though, the app is still better than the other Metro apps, since you can use it to check expected arrival times at the transfer point ahead to see if youll make it with time to spare, or if youll have to run.
