Good reference for beginners

I thought its a learning app for beginners but it isnt!! I read through basics and they didnt even explained the first lines of code. they continued with if and while loop stuff right away.. read 100 of words like parameters and method etc. none of them explained further!! then I did the Basic Quiz Game: I was asked which of the following for loops counts from 0 to 5 . Guys! how can u ask me sonething u never explained? very bad tutorial

Good for an add on for studies. Just would like more tests for the C# add on as the asp.net test is just questions about acronyms and not actual asp coding.
