Description

Ledger is designed around double-entry accounting. Because Ledger is based on proven accounting practices, your transactions can be as complex as you need them to be. Record income, expenses, transfers, and splits through a simple interface. When viewing accounts and their transactions, balances are at the forefront. Balances are charted for each account. For bank accounts, see significant deposits and withdrawals at a glance. For income and expenses, see your budget plotted against your spending balances — a budget tracker that shows how you're actually doing against your plan. Capture transactions using CSV import. Rules can be created to assign categories based on transaction text. You can also set up automations in Shortcuts, saving entries when using Apple Pay. Sometimes a calendar is the best way to navigate your spending. From the main screen, it shows any transactions that happened on a given day. Open it from an expense account and you can see how often you're dining out, making online purchases, and so on — a budget calendar that makes patterns easy to spot. Budgets can be a great tool when managing your money, but sometimes it's hard to know where to start. Open stats from each account to see your per-month spending over the past year. Once you create your budget, that line is overlaid on the spending chart. Sometimes your invoices come far in advance. Ledger supports transaction statuses. When you receive an invoice, record it as "planned." From the main screen, open the Upcoming screen to see which invoices are coming due. For more predictable expenses, create a schedule and assign a template transaction. Entries can be generated on those dates as they occur. Ledger supports backup and restore. It supports iPhone and iPad, and your data can be synced between devices. Dark mode and Spotlight search are also supported.

Great app/The Best

Depois de quase dois anos usando diariamente, posso dizer que é o melhor aplicativo da App Store. Se você gosta/conhece contabilidade e quer ter controle total de todas as suas contas, esse é o applicativo certo. After almost two years of diary use I can say that this is the best app of App Store. If you like/know accounting and want to control all your accounts with precision, this is the right app! *** Ótimo aplicativo, dá um pouco de trabalho no começo mas depois se mostra muito útil. Requer algum conhecimento de contabilidade. Simples e bem eficiente, altamente recomendado. It seems a bit difficult to getting used to CR-DR system at first, but if you like or want to learn accounting, this app is a nice deal, very simple, natural to use and powerful! A great buy...

Cooles Programm - besser als Balance!

Ich habe mir dieses Programm auf gut glück gekauft und kann wirklich sagen, dass es gut ist. Sieht auf den ersten Blick verwirrend aus, aber es ist wirklich klasse nach einer kurzen eingewöhnungszeit. Wenn man sein "Haushaltsbuch" führen möchte dann ist das eine gute möglichkeit. Dieses Programm unterstützt mehrere Konten.

Ledger is fast, reliable, and has an excellent user-interface. Since I enter several transactions a day, thats particularly important to me. Noteworthy IMO is the elegant way to split transactions among accounts. I dont need lots of bells and whistles (although I would appreciate multiple currencies), just a program that works *well*. This one does.

Nachdem man die Funktionsweise dieses Programmes verstanden hat, funktioniert es wie es soll. Ich würde mir noch ein Infofenster wünschen in dem man Informationen zur Transaktion eingeben kann. Ansonsten sehr gut, keine Abstürze, anständiges Icon und gutes Userinterface

Message to the creator: Data Backups and multiple accounts would make this app perfect! It took me a while to find a double entry accounting app. I dont understand how people are able to go with all those crappy apps which use categories and stuff… how would I be supposed to keep my finances in order without double entry accounting? Great app! Keep on working on this, please!

Not user friendly and tracking method is repetitive. Someone looking for quick intuitive app needs to look elsewhere.

Unlike the previous reviewer, Im glad someone decided to develop this. Once you get around the whole debit/credit (left/right) it is very intuitive and easy, much more so than all of the other such apps in the store. It is not repetitive tracking as was suggested, simply your expense accounts are the same as an expense category and you simply record what the money were used for and what the source was, same as any other financial application. I could see this not being as attractive to most users out there (the ones that wouldnt know why their chequing accounts show credit balances, while from their perspective it is a debit balance), though it is rather easy once you figure it out. However, it would absolutely appeal to business users, and Im certain finance students would find it useful in more than one way. I certainly hope more people would buy into it, so the developer would continue improving it. E.g. Add support for foreign currency accounts to facilitate easy transfers between different currency accounts; Add some features to summarize transactions/accounts within selected period and also add/net balances, no need for fancy charts, just something simple; Restore from a backup is absolutely essential as well. Last but not least, Im happy to support a Canadian developer.
