This Life In The UK 2016 study guide is designed by Bruce Greig, an Oxford University psychologist and software designer. The app uses a learning technique called ‘spaced repetition’, which is used by memory experts to learn large amounts of information quickly.
Everything in the official Life in the UK 2016 handbook has been summarised into 400 flashcards. Each flashcard has a question and a short answer.
The app displays a flashcard on the screen (e.g. “Who was Richard Arkwright?”) and you try and recall the answer. You then tell the app how easy or difficult you found it to recall that fact. Facts you find hard to recall will be shown to you again quite soon. Facts you know well will not appear again for a while.
This is the most efficient way to learn information by heart. Much better than doing random quizzes or trying to learn everything in the Life in the UK 2016 handbook just by reading through it.
