As the lion is about to eat the mouse, the mouse makes a promise to help the lion in return for his freedom, and narrowly escapes. Mouse later finds out about humans capturing the lion and chews through the ropes in order to set the jungle cat free. The mouse makes good on his promise and the lion learns of humility.
