This app is cute. Both my 4 year old and my one year old daycare baby were really drawn to it. I havent tried the spanish part of this app, but the French was great.
Cute, but...
The opening screen has 2 choices, French or Spanish. Choose one, and the panda rolls across the screen and begins speaking in the selected language. Great, if thats your childs first language. All I kept hearing is, "what is it saying?" There are no translation phrases for this opening line, nor are there subtitles. Tap the pandas bag, and various items come out one by one. For instance, cake. The panda pronounces the items in the selected language, with the accompanying title flashes at the bottom, i.e. "un gateau" for said cake. And thats it. My 5 year old much prefers my 24/7 Tutor to this, actually. It needs to be reworked a bit, in my opinion.
Little Pim - Foreign Language educational app for children
My daughter loves this app! She already loves Little Pim, and now she can play with Little Pim the panda and learn French and Spanish words on my iPhone. I recommend this product to users and non-users of the Little Pim video series.
Happy to see our favorite Spanish-speaking Panda on our iPhone
I was very excited to get this app because my girl is already a fan of El Panda-as she calls him. She was thrilled to see him on "our" phone and to find out what he had in his bag. Its actually a very simple game which will keep the preschool crowd entertained for some minutes, but not for very long. Just a fun way to have them hear words and relate them to pictures in a language theyre either familiar with or learning. I would give it a 5 if it had more options to engage them in other than the bag game. But, its a great start!
Wonderful tool for kids
Little Pim has been a great tool for my husband and me... The panda is so cute and its nice to feel that our kids are being entertained and learning at the same time... Gives us a break too!
Can
We love little pim, but the background music is so loud on this app that you cant hear little pim pronouncing the words. Which pretty much totally defeats the purpose. The fact that I paid $2 for it is sort of frustrating because there is no way to tell that you wont be able to hear the words without downloading. SO BUYER BEWARE! Wish someone would have pointed this out in one of the reviews. I dont know what they were thinking when they made this?
Bug?
This works - except that panda bears mouth is moving - but no words are coming out. Please fix. This app would be great if it worked!
