Description

From the creators of Vicinity, LocateMe UK allows you to quickly view your current location in the form of an Ordnance Survey grid reference, latitude and longitude, and, if available, your current elevation above sea level. You can also easily view an Ordnance Survey map for your location. Whilst many other applications display your location as just a latitude and longitude, LocateMe UK provides the OS Grid Reference, which will be ideal for walking, cycling, orienteering and more. Having the grid reference means you will be able to easily locate yourself on good old fashioned paper maps, or if the Google Maps coverage isnt great for your current location (such as in the countryside), you can just tap to view the Ordnance Survey map online. Please note that due to the way OS Grid References work, the Grid Reference can only be calculated in England, Scotland and Wales. If you are outside of this area, you can still view your latitude, longitude and elevation however. For the most accurate results, we recommend using this application on an iPhone 3G, however, it will still function well on the original iPhone and the iPod Touch if you have a connection to the phone network or WiFi.
