Description

The app London Free WiFi helps you find a Cafe or Restaurant with a free WiFi hotspot. The locations of these Cafes and Restaurants are stored on your iPhone or iPod Touch, so that you can find them even without internet access. You can list all cafes near your current GPS location or select a neighborhood by name or ZIP code. The app provides an overview map with offline cache, allowing you to view the map also without internet connection. This app has also a subway map and shows the WiFi spots near a London Tube station. Not useful at all.

I just spent a week in London, got this app to help me skip paying access fees. Did not find me a single free wifi spot, despite my constant trying. The database is mostly incorrect. Coordinates are wrong. For example, it told me that I was in front of a pub with free wifi, when I was nowhere near it, a 20 minute walk later, and I happened across it, and it didnt have free wifi. Its supposed to be usable offline, but the most seemingly useful bit, the mapping of spots, cant be used, unless you had the foresight to preload all maps into your phone prior to looking for a wifi spot, which is a bit chicken and egg. And of course, I cant provide feedback if I dont have a network connection, so I cant complain when I dont find a spot.
