Description
Magnetic Numbers was created following a conversation with a speech therapist, who had identified the potential in interacting with children through numbers rather than words. We particularly liked the concept of the fridge magnets being arranged to create interesting sentences and wanted to combine that with mathematics too!
Magnetic Numbers allows the digits to be laid out over the screen of the iOS device, the app then identifies the sequence of numbers (including the suggested answer) and calculates if the calculation is correct. The app then uses voice lookup to “speak” to the user confirming the calculation and will play a fanfare if the proposed answer is correct.
The app works nicely as an educational tool, particularly focused on combining speech with numerical skills in a subtle and fun environment.
