Description
The mean arterial pressure is a term used in medicine to describe an average blood pressure. It has traditionally been derived from systolic and diastolic pressures. At normal resting heart rates, MAP can be approximated by the following equation:
MAP= diastolic pressure + ((systolic pressure - diastolic pressure)/3)
