Description
Someday, humans will use robotic airplanes to explore other planets in our solar system, like Mars. Until then, take an amazing aerial tour of Mars on your iPhone or iPod Touch with Mars Flyer.
The mission begins with a detailed pinch/drag topographic map of the planet, which is used to set start and end points of a flight route. Then terrain data is loaded, and off you go! Mars Flyer utilizes high resolution color photographic imagery of Mars, showing the planet in rich, exquisite aerial detail. Queue up your own soundtrack of songs from the iPod music library to enhance this amazing visual experience.
While this app is computationally intensive, it has been carefully tuned and optimized to run on all generations of iPhones and iPod Touches (iPhone OS 3.0 required). Options allow the app to be more memory-friendly on older devices. On the iPhone 3GS, performance of this app is incredible.
