Description

MathGarden is a fun way for kids to learn maths. You just: Answer maths questions to earn water, then water your garden to grow corn. Then harvest the corn to unlock awards! ...but keep the water flowing though, or the corn with wither and die. Game settings include: Math types: Focus on addition, subtraction, multiplication or division - any or all of them! 3 levels: Easy (eg 3+4), Medium (eg. 6 x 7) and Hard (eg 13x14) based on the expected learning levels for kids 4-15y.o. Unlock awards based on how much corn you harvest, and how many active plots you are growing on. Enjoy! The watercan only works once per plant. Then the plant asks for water and it is not possible so the plant dies and you cant ever grow a corn. Also if you click on options in game it pulls up a huge screen that does not allow you to exit, effectively freezing the game. I played on easy on a non jailbroken iPod 4th generation with latest firmware.

Looking at this game from a teachers standpoint, I feel that this game would be better used at home. Although this application does use the content in an affective way, I feel that the frills of the application could distract the students because they would be focusing more on the competition factor instead of learning. Some things that I liked was that I could change the level of the game in order to accommodate for different students and I could pick what kinds of operations I wanted the students to focus on. Hope this helps!

Simple concept; correct math problem = more water to grow/harvest plants. The bug doesnt let you water each plant more than once so none of plants will grow. Please fix this for the iPad.

It is a great game for kids it helps them if they have a test coming up in school or something. Because you can change to adding and subtraction and multiplication :)

My kids and I found it difficult to accuratly touch either the answer or the water drops. More attention was given to the growing aspect of the game than the math part.
