Description
Chalkwell Park is a new sound app by Matmos commissioned by Metal for NetPark.
Matmos spent a week at Chalkwell Hall in June 2015, sampling and recording the sounds of the people, the park and environs. Sounds include peacocks, skateboarding, fences, a playground and a pond.
The key instruction is Listen, then drift inside Chalkwell Park, Southend-on-Sea. As you wander you will encounter a series of eight tracks including the instructions. This app is best experienced with headphones.
Use the map to navigate towards each GPS zone and the track will automatically play. Switch GPS on before starting.
If you are unable to visit Chalkwell Park in Southend-on-Sea then click on MP3 to play the tracks wherever you are.
