Does the microphone on that new headset you bought actually work, or are you using the internal iPhone mic instead?
If you have issues with being heard or speech recognition seems to miss what you are saying... it may be that you are using your iPhones internal mic and not the one on the headset you are using.
This app simply tells you whether your iOS device is detecting an external Mic or not when you plug ina headset.
