Transport Controls
MIDIPlayer X let’s you play, rewind and fast forward through your MIDI file. You can step through measure by measure or quickly jump to any location in the file with a simple mouse click. Easily Loop files for continuous repeat.

AutoPlay
Flexible AutoPlay lets playback begin immediately when a file is loaded or selected. Enable AutoAdvance to automatically play the next file when the current file ends.

Shuffle
Randomize your playback order when mulitple files are loaded.

Editing Features
Change tempos, mute or solo individuals channels, and rechannelize as needed. After making changes, you can save a new MIDI file with your edits. The next time you load your new file into MIDIPlayer X, your desired tempo, track mutes, and new channel assignments will load as you saved them.

Drag and Drop Simplicity
Simply drag a file, a few files, a folder, or even multiple folders, from the Finder and drop them on to MIDIPlayer X. Drag the current file out into your DAW or a new Finder location.

Counter
The counter provides a precise location, displaying your choice of bar : beat or min : sec.

Ne veut pas ouvrir les fichiers .midi via le Finder

Premier contact décevant. Mes applications (Lilypound en particulier) génèrent des fichiers .midi. Lorsque dans l’appli je sélectionne « ouvrir », tous les fichiers .midi sont grisés et donc inaccessibles. Je ne peux pas non plus depuis le Finder les "ouvrir avec » car l’appli n’est pas proposée dans les applications pouvant exécuter ces fichiers. La seule solution est d’ouvrir l’application, et de déplacer les fichiers sur l’icone. Là, çà marche et plutôt très bien. Je pense qu’une solution existe, mais il va falloir chercher, ce qui est contrariant compte tenu de l’apparente simplicité du produit.

Endlich mal ne kleine App die Midi abspielt ohne Logic oder eine andere grosse Daw geöffnet werden muss. Macht was es soll. Prima :) Fehlt nur Vorspulen, dann passt alles :)

Genau diese App habe ich gesucht. Einfach nur Midifiles abspielen, ohne grosse Umstände. Wenn jetzt noch Vorspulen und das Muten einzelner Tracks kommt, wäre die App perfekt. Aber vielleicht kommt das ja noch.

Auf diese App habe ich Jahre gewartet. Midi Files ohne viel Aufwand abspielen. Klein, schnell, gut! Nach dem Update noch besser mit neuen Features. Bester Player für den Mac!

I purchased this app because Apple dropped support for midi in Quicklook, Safari and in Quicktime player. It works as advertised. Its intuitive and midi files sound like they were played with Quicktime 7. I hope the developper add the ability to skip ahead while playing or a plugin version for quicklook. For the price, you can’t go wrong with this one.

This is a terrific bit of software! Once upon a time, MIDI playback was built into Preview. For some reason, Apple decided to drop the ball. Well, MethodRed has picked it up and run with it. Glad to find a lightweight solution—much better than opening Logic every time I want to preview a .mid file.
