Description

Minds On Physics - the App is the mobile version of the popular Minds On Physics Internet Modules found at the publishers website. Affectionately known as MOPs, this physics learning tool delivers a collection of questions that target students misconceptions and misunderstandings. Immediate feedback, opportunities for self-correction, and question-specific help abound. MOPs blends the need for careful reading, logical reasoning, and physics understanding in an effort to produce a confident and able physics student. Part 1 of this six-part series includes 29 missions pertaining to topics in kinematics, vectors, and projectiles. Three of the 15 modules in the Minds On Physics Program are included in this app. These include the Kinematic Concepts, the Kinematic Graphing, and the Vectors and Projectiles modules.

App has many broken links. App has not been updated for newer devices. When you get a question wrong it does not tell you why you got a question wrong.

The app functionally works, but is still formatted for the iPhone 4S. The app also does not include a lot of the MOPs that you can use online, which is disappointing since the app is $0.99

Wow...

I bought this app so I could do my homework throughout the school year. It doesnt have Newtons Laws nor many other topics you can cover online. I got ONE assignment done on this app. . . I dont think thats worth $0.99.

Making Minds On Physics Truly Portable

DocSmithUSMC · 10 years ago

This has been a long time coming, but now that it is here, it deserves full marks. Physics Classroom is a wonderful website that has these great modules designed to supplement learning of Newtonian Physics. I could not be happier to see it roll out to the iPad, albeit in chunks that I are now are the fault of Apples rules, not the developers lack of creation. Once all of them are up and running, students will have a great series of Newtonian topics that will enhance their learning and buttress their classroom experience, either high school or university. One must also remember the creator is a full-time physics teacher, high school and university, so one should be grateful these are coming out at all. I truly support these apps, their development, and their use in the classroom(they make excellent homework assignments). Tom Henderson deserves a Nobel in Physics Education just for putting these things together. Every high school, as well as professor of introductory physics, should get a teacher account and push these apps on their students. Fair winds and following seas!!!
