Description
An application that is designed to heighten awareness regarding the children that have been reported missing in New York State.
In June, 2012 Don Rittner walked into the Troy Web office with an idea. He wanted to create a mobile application to help locate missing children. From that idea the “Missing Children of New York” mobile app was born. The app is the result of Don’s vision and design, Troy Web’s volunteered technical expertise, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s missing children data. Its launch coincides with the arrival of the 2012 Fireball Run: Northern Exposure in Schenectady, NY. A special thanks also goes out to Gloria Coppola of the NYS Police Troop G - Major Crimes, Loudonville, NY.
Features include:
- Up to date images from the National Center for Exploited & Missing Children regarding missing child cases
- Case details on missing children going back to the 1950s.
- The ability to report tips directly to authorities via multiple methods including images taken by the device camera.
The app launch coincides with the arrival of the 2012 Fireball Run: Northern Exposure in Schenectady, NY.
