Interesting take on a podcasting app
Best podcast app Ive used so far
An innovative take on a stale genre - this app does things a little differently than most podcast apps, and it definitely works well. Unique and useful controls, a solid organization system, and a beautiful UI that takes full advantage of iOS graphical chops.
Works well, but just OK
Really Id rather just use the Apple podcasts app. I dont see why Id use this over that one. There is a fancy blur effect in the list, but I just want to listen. So I dont really need fancy effects.
Careful, Not for iPad!!
After reading a mention on Daring Fireball, I went to the Mocast web site and pressed the Download on App Store button. When the App Store window came up, it said compatible with iPad. But after paying $2.99 for this app, I quickly discovered that its an iPhone app blown up in that weird ugly way to fit the iPad. Then I went directly to the App Store, and when I searched for the Mocast app, it comes up as iPhone-only. Mocast wont show up when you search for iPad-only. So there goes $2.99 down the drain. Learn from my mistake. Not for iPad, unless you have very bad taste in apps. Four stars only because I dont want to be cruel.
Renewing my interest in podcasts
Love the way mocast works. I love that I can build my own queue of current and back logged episodes and that they stream. Its renewing my interest in all of the great content out there. Looking forward to seeing it improve (the dev seems active in the uservoice forum).
Finally, My Podcast app
Im willing to fight through the abundant glitches in this first release, because the concept is so brilliant and logical. I really hope the developer builds it out from here. Its just a wonderful idea for a podcast app.
Great interface
This app does away with a bunch of the unnecessary UI conventions of other podcast apps. The author clearly had the same peeves with those apps as I did -- and I thank him for it!
