My First Calculator is a great way to introduce numbers, counting, addition, subtraction and basic features of a calculator to children. It has been designed to focus on core introductory numeracy competencies before introducing children to further concepts such as zero and negative numbers. FEATURING * Visually concrete representations - A narrated voice reinforces the number selected. This is followed by a cute sound effect that enables mental referencing - Animals are shown randomly for every equation * Equation bar - Watch the equation update dynamically increment as numbers and operators are selected * Errorless teaching - My First Calculator brings children through a step by step process by allowing only permissible buttons to be pressed. E.g. You cannot press the Plus (+) button without first pressing a number. * Zero comes later! - Avoid the confusion of zero concepts when introducing numbers. Without the 0 button, My First Calculator allows addition and subtraction up to 18. * Negative numbers? - My First Calculator avoids the concept of negative numbers by only allowing subtraction of numbers smaller than the first selected number. * Realistic button sounds - Tap a button and hear it pop!
