Have you ever had a particularly heavy and long period and wondered whether this is normal? This app has been designed to help you find out. One of the causes could be a blood coagulation disorder, such as von Willebrand disease. A very intense and/or long period is one of the typical symptoms of this disease.
This app was developed by CSL Behring GmbH in cooperation with the specialist Dr. Susan Halimeh from the Coagulation Centre (Gerinnungszentrum) Rhein Ruhr in Duisburg and has been designed to make things clearer. This app allows you to note the number of sanitary products, such as sanitary towels and tampons, which you needed during your period, in a calendar. The app calculates a score at the end of your menstruation. This score is scientifically proved based on the PBAC (pictorial blood assessment chart). A score higher than 100 could be an indication of a blood coagulation disorder. If this is the case, please contact your doctor or gynecologist, who can carry out further diagnostic investigation or refer you to a specialized blood coagulation center.
This makes sure you’re on the safe side and helps you understand the possible causes of heavy or long periods.
