Description

MyWorldWeather is a mobile version of the WWIS developed for iOS platform.It is equipped with location-based technology to detect the location where the user is located and to provide users with official city weather forecast automatically. The World Weather Information Service (WWIS) website is the first and the only one global website presenting OFFICIAL weather observations, weather forecasts and climatological information for selected cities provided by National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) worldwide.WWIS aims to provide authoritative and reliable weather information of NMHSs around the world to all internet users and media.The WWIS website was developed and maintained by the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) on behalf of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). By March 2017, WWIS provided official weather information for 2123 cities in which 1997 cities are available with forecast from 135 members while 1961 cities are available with climatological information from 169 members.

Rather meager

iPhone4S, iOS 5.x: Performing a second installation, it worked ---------- iPhone4S, iOS 5.x: For such a powerful and worldwide organization, this is a rather small app. It always starts with Geneva, regardless whats your preferred city. It crashes, if you turn the iPhone in landscape mode. So you dont see any climatology.

This app differentiates from other weather apps because it uses authoritative information from National Meteorological Services in each country. The weather forecast is, therefore, more reliable at each location.

Simple but useful and credible

This app is basic but is a great source of world weather forecasts. This app gets forecast information from weather agencies from governments around the world. More credible than any third party forecast done from afar. It has a real easy interface to find the closest weather forecast station. Moreover, its free and ad free! Only wish for future versions would be to have current conditions for weather stations (from METAR observations for example).
